Currently, Hispanics represent about 15% of the U.S. population at 50 million. Given current growth rates, one of out of every four persons in the U.S. will be of Hispanic origin by 2050.
Close to two-thirds of all U.S. Hispanics hail from Mexico. The remainder trace their linage to the Caribbean, Central America and South America with each group adding its own customs, habits and behaviors to the mix.
Hispanics are also very young. Currently, 25% of the country's children under age 5 are Hispanic.
