Will Black churches continue denouncing same-sex marriage?

As we blogged last week, President Obama's support of marriage equality for all genders and sexual orientations was a watershed moment, even if it has no immediate legal impact (and even though he has little more than the bully pulpit on this issue). Now comes the intense speculation on how much this will help him or hurt him.

"Hate speech goes beyond the N- and F-words"

Regarding the intersection of minority groups, Black, Latino and gay, we have some idiocy and mendacity to highlight, and some wisdom.

Support for same-sex marriage varies widely among faiths (and non-faiths)

It's not a surprise that Americans who claim to be strongly religious (or religious conservatives) oppose same-sex marriage. It's probably not surprising, either, that agnostics and athiests tend to support same-sex marriage. What may be surprising is the huge gulf in viewpoints, and the shift among all religions toward acceptance.
