A Pew Hispanic Center poll finds that a majority of Latinos now favor marriage equality, 52 to 32 percent, marking an 18-point leap in support between 2009 and 2012.

As we blogged last week, President Obama's support of marriage equality for all genders and sexual orientations was a watershed moment, even if it has no immediate legal impact (and even though he has little more than the bully pulpit on this issue). Now comes the intense speculation on how much this will help him or hurt him.

Just a short time ago President Obama announced that he believes gays and lesbians should have full marriage rights.
