You know the saying. As California goes, so goes the nation. Eventually. We knew it would happen. But a section of the state budget report released by California Gov. Jerry Brown’s office last week made it clear.

Americans now segrate themselves based on politics, beliefs

The U.S. Census (and anecdotal evidence) has shown a greater integration of communities in terms of race in the south, west and other growing populations (less so in older, industrial towns and cities where race has calcified neighborhoods for many decades).

Demographics and the changing definition of "All-American"

Does anyone else have an issue with the term "all-American"?  Nothing wrong with it, per se. It matters what the intent is of the person using the term. For many it means "born in the U.S.A." (not the Springsteen album), white, patriotic, and a certain intangible American-ness.
